KREM 2, the award-winning CBS station in Spokane, WA, is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and enterprising Anchor to join our team. Grow your career in the beautiful Inland Northwest. The successful journalist is an excellent on-camera communicator deeply committed to local news who regularly breaks stories in their market and gets noticed. This person will contribute to the station's More to Every Story brand. We are looking for a journalist who excels at both accountability reporting and breaking news. In addition, they must be an excellent storyteller, developer of sources and understand the news cycle extends to multiple platforms. That means you can create unique and shareable stories for all platforms. An anchor is a newsroom leader who will be one of the faces of the station in charge of developing contacts and relationships in the community, enabling them to create and present unique, compelling, and innovative stories of interest. We're looking for someone who wants to mentor less experienced MSJs and producers. KREM's anchors are leaders and play a role in the station's strategic planning. Prior consistent anchor experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Anchor evening newscasts, and fill-in on other shows as needed.
• Deliver reports in an engaging, exciting, and accurate manner either on-air or on our digital stream.
• Enterprise compelling content that is engaging and can drive an audience to watch.
• Develop news sources for general assignment and special areas of interest.
• Need to have skills to shoot, write and edit content for air as a multi-skilled journalist.
• Write and post daily on all digital platforms including social media.
• Participate in KREM 2's "eyeballs opportunities" on TV and in the community.
• Perform other tasks as required by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5-7 years combined news anchoring and reporting/MSJ experience.
• Journalist and/or Mass Communications degree.
• A portfolio with examples of strong breaking, general, and feature news reporting as a multi-skilled journalist.
• Strong on-camera delivery with the ability to ad-lib.
• Ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots.
• Strong social media skills, including an understanding on all social platforms current and emerging and the tenants of content marketing.
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines.
• Excellent creative presentation and writing skills.
• Current valid driver's license and excellent driving history.

Compensation: $85,000 to $110,000

Pay Range

$85,000 - $110,000 USD
