Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Partners is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist (board-certified/board-eligible) to join our team of 40+ physicians at Maine Medical Center (MMC) . MMC is a 700-bed tertiary hospital and Level One Trauma Center offering residency, adult cardiothoracic anesthesia fellowship, and academic opportunities.

About this role

• Ideal candidate with at least 5 years of pediatric cardiac anesthesia experience, including neonatal cardiac surgery, with leadership interest for a growing program.
• Responsibilities include care of pediatric cardiac surgical, cath, and EP lab patients, as well as general non-cardiac pediatric surgical and NORA cases.
• Competitive compensation with an average shareholder pay of $550k/year, plus an $80k/year stipend for pediatric cardiac work. Start on a 2-year shareholder track aiming for shareholder pay within one year.

Our pediatric surgical program is the largest in Northern New England, performing over 3,500 anesthetics annually, with specialties including general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, and cardiac surgery.

• ABA board certification and Pediatric Anesthesiology Boards required within 4 years.
• The Barbara Bush Childrens Hospital is Maine's premier pediatric referral hospital with 116 beds, including NICU, Continuing Care Nursery, and PICU beds.
• Our pediatric anesthesia team provides care for complex neurosurgical repairs, neonatal surgery, airway reconstructions, cath lab procedures, and routine pediatric services.
• Services are provided at MMCs inpatient hospital, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient imaging centers.

We emphasize education and research, with physicians serving as clinical faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine and participating in research and quality improvement projects aligned with our mission.
