Job Description

Were seeking a mid-level Cyber Security Engineer for a long-term contract position with our client, a globally recognized company with a quality brand of products.

Duration: 6-month contract with a high potential for extension

Location: Anaheim, CA (Remote, hybrid, or onsite)

Working hours: Pacific Time Zone

Expected Compensation: Starting at $60/hr W2 - higher DOE - plus benefits. The offered compensation to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include (but are not limited to) the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.

Job Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, programming, or related field.
  2. Training certifications are a plus.
  3. 3-5 years of professional experience in the industry, such as security administration and familiarity with cyber security technologies and standards such as CrowdStrike, Qualys, Illumio, Netskope, Splunk, PCI, SOX compliance.
  4. Preferred technical skills: CrowdStrike Security Stack that includes EDR, Next-Gen SIEM, Spotlight, and Exposure Management.
  5. Proficient, or willingness and ability to learn, a broad array of security software applications and tools.
  6. Experienced with penetration testing and techniques.
  7. Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities.
  8. Demonstrated understanding of computer-related security systems including firewalls, IDPS concepts, endpoint security, encryption, and password protection and authentication.
  9. Understanding and background with Intrusion Detection Systems and SIEM products.
  10. Background in Incident Response.
  11. Knowledge and understanding of application security.
  12. Experienced in installing security software and documenting security issues.
  13. Comfortable working with all types of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, iOS, Android etc.

Job Description:

  1. Collaborate with team to counter security breaches and anticipating and reducing the likelihood of future security alerts, incidents, and disasters.
  2. Monitor security access and maintain the relevant data.
  3. Develop scripts, use tools, and procedures to automate scans, assessments, and other monitoring and discovery activities.
  4. Conduct vulnerability testing and risk analyses to assess security and perform internal and external security audits.
  5. Analyze security breaches to identify the cause and to update incidence responses and disaster recovery plans.
  6. Participate in the definition, planning, implementation, maintenance and upgrade of security measures, policies, and protocols controls.
  7. Offer insights on the effectiveness of the current security policies, incident responses, disaster recovery plans, and other security-related information.
  8. Review violations of security procedures; provide training to ensure violations do not recur.
