Cybersecurity Specialist Intern (Part-Time or Full-Time) – Tucson, AZ

Position Overview

Join our team as a Cybersecurity Specialist Intern, where you will support the protection and monitoring of our organization’s digital assets. This position is available as either part-time or full-time, and is based in our Tucson, AZ office. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies, all while working closely with experienced professionals. This opportunity is perfect for students currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity or a related field and looking to gain real-world experience in the industry.

• Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, suspicious activity, and vulnerabilities using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
• Respond to security incidents and assist with investigations, including documentation of findings and escalation to senior cybersecurity staff as necessary.
• Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of security software, firewalls, antivirus solutions, and other cybersecurity tools.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to assess risks, perform vulnerability scans, and support remediation efforts.
• Support the implementation of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
• Document all security-related incidents, events, and actions taken in the incident management or ticketing system.
• Assist with employee security awareness training initiatives and provide guidance on safe computing practices.
• Conduct research on the latest security threats, tools, and trends to help keep our defenses up to date.
• Participate in periodic security audits and compliance checks as required.

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and common security threats.
• Familiarity with security tools and frameworks is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Available to work part-time or full-time from our Tucson, AZ office.
