Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
• Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Eaglesoft or Epic.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Schedule appointments and manage the front desk duties when required, including answering phones and handling patient inquiries.
• Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients.
• Perform basic medical coding for insurance purposes as needed.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Skills
• Proficiency in medical coding is preferred, with knowledge of insurance processes being a plus.
• Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with children is advantageous.
• Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic is desirable.
• Strong understanding of anatomy related to dental health.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and team members.
• Previous experience as a dental receptionist is beneficial but not mandatory.
