Overview Position: Grade 2 Classroom Aide Supervisor: Lower School Division Head Position Summary The Classroom Aide works with the second-grade teachers to support the school's curricular goals and mission. The ideal candidate will bring a history of working with a diverse group of students, a collaborative work style, and a good sense of humor. They will also have some classroom experience and draw upon that understanding to contribute to the CHS community. This is a full-time, hourly, exempt position starting immediately and ending on June 11, 2026. Responsibilities Supporting the lead teacher to facilitate lessons in all subject areas by working with small groups of students as needed Guide students in their social-emotional development by maintaining expectations and supporting positive, productive student behavior Respectfully engage with students and demonstrate sensitivity to cultures, values, family configurations, and beliefs Attend all Special Subject classes and assigned duties (e.g., recess) Attend regular planning, grade-level, and staff meetings, including parent-teacher conferences Maintain open two-way communication with the lead teacher and be receptive to feedback Assume responsibility for other tasks as assigned Position Requirements Associate or Bachelor's degree 1-3 years of experience working with elementary-aged children Demonstrated experience working in a culturally diverse community Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Creative problem-solving skills, flexibility, and a positive, growth-oriented attitude Preference for those with experience working with a wide range of learners Benefits Eligibility for health, dental, and vision care benefits Professional development training Easy access to public transportation (Chestnut Hill D Line stop) with paid MBTA passes A collaborative team approach and supportive work environment Opportunity to earn additional compensation through before-school or after-school care The Chestnut Hill School is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, sex, disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression or family composition or any other status protected by applicable law in the administration of its employment, education, admission, financial aid, and other policies and programs.
