Responsibilities:

  1. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

    • Monitor network performance, availability, and security using network monitoring tools.
    • Assist with troubleshooting network issues and outages, escalating to senior team members as needed.
  2. Configuration and Maintenance:

    • Assist with the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
    • Perform routine network maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration backups.
  3. User Support and Training:

    • Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues, including connectivity problems, VPN access, and wireless connectivity.
    • Assist with user training and documentation on network-related topics and procedures.
  4. Network Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
    • Update network documentation as changes are made to the network infrastructure.
  5. Security and Compliance:

    • Assist with implementing and enforcing network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to network security and data privacy.
  6. Collaboration and Teamwork:

    • Collaborate with other IT team members, including network engineers, system administrators, and security analysts, to support overall IT operations and initiatives.
    • Participate in team meetings, projects, and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) are a plus.

  2. Technical Skills:

    • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
    • Familiarity with network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
    • Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools and utilities.
  3. Communication Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to analyze network issues and identify root causes.
  5. Teamwork and Collaboration:

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Willingness to learn from senior team members and take on new challenges.
