Job Summary We are seeking a
Financial Support Assistant to support financial aid and student financial services for a
healthcare-focused client delivering education programs in Nursing and Allied Health disciplines. This role partners closely with leadership, academic administration, and student services to assist healthcare students with financial aid processes, ensure compliance with
state and federal healthcare education funding regulations , and maintain accurate financial aid records.
The ideal candidate will have
prior experience supporting financial aid operations within healthcare, nursing, allied health, or medical education environments and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, student-facing setting.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have) - Mandatory experience in financial aid or student financial services within a healthcare, nursing, allied health, or medical education setting
- Prior experience in financial aid processing or student financial services
- Strong data entry and administrative support skills
- Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft (PS) or a comparable student information system
- Working knowledge of state and federal education department regulations , specifically as they apply to healthcare education programs
- Proven experience filing FAFSA , NJ Grants , and/or STARS
- Experience processing student loans and reconciling student financial aid packages
- Ability to work occasional late evenings as required
Key Responsibilities - Support the Director of Financial Aid in the development, implementation, and evaluation of financial aid programs for healthcare education programs , including Nursing and Medical Imaging
- Serve as a primary resource for healthcare students regarding financial aid policies, applications, and funding options
- Prepare and distribute financial aid information packets, applications, and healthcare program-specific documentation
- Maintain accurate records related to scholarships, grants, loans, and other financial aid awards
- Ensure ongoing compliance with healthcare education funding requirements , institutional policies, and regulatory guidelines
- Stay current with changes to financial aid regulations, healthcare education funding programs, and policy updates
- Collaborate with admissions, registration, fiscal services, and academic departments to ensure timely and accurate information flow
- Communicate professionally with students, families, visitors, and internal stakeholders
- Assist with student services initiatives such as orientation, graduation, and healthcare program events
- Attend administrative and cross-functional meetings and support additional projects as assigned
Skills & Competencies - Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Strong time management and follow-through skills
Education - High school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional education or certifications in business administration, finance, healthcare administration, or education preferred
