Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Location: Philadelphia, PA or Lehigh Valley, PA

Compensation: $75k–$90k/year pays portal to portal

Company Overview:

Tiello has partnered with a respected regional Fire & Life Safety Integrator recognized for providing high-quality fire alarm, detection, and suppression systems. They are seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to join their growing service team supporting customers throughout Pennsylvania.

Role Summary:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong electrical or low-voltage background and an interest in the fire alarm and life safety field. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and commissioning fire alarm systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA 72 and local codes.
  • Commission and program new fire alarm systems , including device configuration, loop testing, and system verification.
  • Diagnose and repair fire alarm components including panels, notification appliances, detectors, and initiating devices.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and engineers regarding system status and repair recommendations.
  • Document all service activities accurately, including parts used, findings, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours service as required.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and test equipment in clean, professional working condition.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and industry standards.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, or low-voltage aptitude.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical.
  • Willingness to travel within assigned region and work occasional overtime or weekends.

Preferred:

  • NICET I or II in Fire Alarm Systems (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Experience with fire alarm panels such as Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, or Silent Knight.
  • Understanding of basic networking and IP-based systems.
  • Experience reading blueprints and performing device layouts.
  • Prior experience in fire alarm service, inspection, or commissioning.
