Overview Position Type: Part-Time (One Weekend a Month, Two Weeks a Year) Salary: Pay varies by rank and years of service; eligible for enlistment bonuses and tuition benefits Horizontal Construction Engineer (12N) — As a Horizontal Construction Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports Army missions both at home and abroad. You’ll operate heavy construction equipment to move earth and materials, build roads and airstrips, prepare sites for construction, and support disaster relief efforts. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, graders, and dump trucks Assist in construction and maintenance of roads, runways, and airfields Prepare job sites for vertical construction (buildings, barracks, etc.) Perform excavation, grading, and compaction of earth Load and transport materials and equipment Support emergency response operations like storm recovery and flood control Qualifications Must have HS Diploma or GED Must be 17 or older No experience required This is a partial job description.
