Description Job Title: RF Foreman - Tower Climber
Position Summary: The RF Foreman - Tower Climber is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and executing RF system installations on towers, rooftops, and in-building environments. This working foreman leads crews on-site, ensuring all tower work-including antenna installations, cabling, grounding, and testing-is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is a skilled climber with deep RF knowledge, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in the field.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead field crews in the installation and maintenance of RF systems, including DAS, ERRCS, small cell, and macro site builds
- Climb towers, rooftops, and other elevated structures to install, align, and secure antennas, mounts, and supporting hardware
- Oversee coax, fiber, and CAT6 routing, termination, and testing
- Interpret RF design documents, iBwave files, and construction drawings
- Perform and review Line/Sweep, PIM, and fiber (OTDR) tests to validate system performance
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, site-specific requirements, and daily job hazard assessments (JHAs)
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and customers to meet quality and scheduling goals
- Train and mentor Tower Techs and RF Technicians, ensuring proper technique and accountability
- Complete daily reports, redlines, test documentation, and closeout packages
- Maintain inventory and manage tools/equipment for assigned jobsites
Qualifications: - 3-5+ years of tower climbing and RF installation experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or foreman role
- Advanced understanding of RF systems, including DAS, ERRCS, and macro cell site deployments
- Proficient with test equipment: Anritsu, EXFO, PCTel, OTDR, etc.
- Climbing certification (NATE/Comtrain) and experience at height required
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead crews in high-pressure environments
- OSHA 30, RF Safety, First Aid/CPR certifications preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record, as travel to various job sites is required
- Work nights/weekends when needed
Working Conditions: - Outdoor work in varying conditions, including extreme heat, wind, and heights
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb towers 100+ ft, and work in confined spaces
- Overnight travel and flexible schedules required for project needs
