Reports To: Practice Manager
Summary: Observe performance of staff as they complete administrative and certain clinical duties. Administrative duties observed may include scheduling appointments, FMLA, Prior Authorizations, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical duties observed may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications as directed by physician. Completion of a rotational schedule in multiple outpatient clinics may be required. Candidates are responsible for attending the DCMH sponsored Medical Assistant (MA) Training Program and fulfilling all of the necessary requirements.
Work Schedule: Must be able to work non-standard work hours.
Skills & Abilities
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: No experience necessary
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.
Other Requirements: This program consists of on-the-job training and classes plus a medical assistant externship. This position requires constant standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, lifting and carrying 0-20 lbs and pushing and pulling 0-12 lbs.
