Job Description

Patient Care Supervisor needed to provide guidance, support, oversight and scheduling of day-to-day activities of Medical Assistants in our orthopaedic clinic. This position also assists with patient care and reports to our Clinical Services Coordinator.

Full-time with benefits, including paid holidays. Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. 

  Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise daily work activities and schedules of Medical Assistants.
  • Perform staffing, training, performance management and evaluation functions for Medical Assistants.
  • Provide input and share responsibility for administrative functions of clinical area.
  • Respond to patient and physician concerns and complaints regarding medical care or clinic flow.
  • Act as float medical assistant when needed.
  • Communicate with Clinical Services Coordinator regarding department activity and problems; ensures staff and management are kept informed of company operations which affect performance and discretion.
  • Observe universal precautions and OSHA requirements for healthcare facilities.
  • Personally adhere to the standards, rules, and procedures of the KOC Compliance and HIPAA Programs and contribute to ensuring the organizational commitment to compliance and HIPAA regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant certificate from accredited program preferred
  • 2-3 years medical assistant experience; experience with orthopaedic injuries or conditions a plus
  • 1 year previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Proficiency with Windows based computer applications; previous experience with electronic medical records preferred
  • Ability to work independently with good decision making skills and ability to lead others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively and assume control in emergency situations
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and universal precautions
