ABOUT USCET
The US-China Education Trust (USCET), a program of the F.Y. Chang Foundation, promotes US-China relations by strengthening mutual understanding through education and exchange. For more than 20 years, USCET has strengthened links between Chinese and American universities, scholars, and policymakers, while its programs provide a nuanced understanding of the US-China relationship, American society, and Asian American achievements within the larger context of the US-China relationship.
POSITION SUMMARY
USCET is seeking a full-time Program Associate to administer day-to-day operations of USCET programs, including webinars, workshops, conferences, student fellowships, and educational exchanges, as well as manage USCET’s
offices at George Washington University in Washington, DC. The program associate must be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and demonstrate excellent judgement while interacting with a variety of stakeholders in the US and internationally. The Program Associate works under the supervision of USCET’s Chief Operating Officer, and will conduct the duties as outlined below:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Office Administration
· Perform general office administrative duties;
· Serve as a liaison with Elliott School faculty and staff;
· Maintain and update USCET contact databases;
· Assist with event planning related to fundraising and programs;
· Provide travel logistical support by USCET staff and others as necessary;
· Coordinate intern recruitment and supervise interns.
Communications
· Coordinate the editing, writing, and updating of web content and social media platforms;
· Coordinate program publicity and outreach, including producing regular news and program updates; and promoting USCET’s work to a variety of audiences;
· Prepare newsletters and communications;
· Website maintenance.
Program Management
· Lead the implementation of USCET’s fellowship programs and coordinate with universities in the US and China;
· Provide support in implementing USCET programs;
· Technical proficiency in setting up, managing and the running of Zoom or hybrid webinar events;
· Assist with drafting complex documents, including program reports and evaluations;
· Assists in establishing project implementation timelines and implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation plans;
· Travel and implement programs in China with President and Chief Operating Officer as needed.
New Business and Grant Development
· Contribute to new business and grant development efforts;
· Proposal and concept paper writing;
· Proposal budget development.
Minimum Qualifications
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact, and virtual conference platforms (i.e. Zoom);
· Minimum of two years’ work experience in a relevant field, including international affairs, international education, international development, academia;
· Strong interest in US-China relations;
· Excellent written and oral communication skills;
· Ability to multi-task and manage details;
· Initiates and proactively establishes positive relationships with program partners, alumni, funders, participants
and consultants;
· Works well in a team: coordinates, allocates, and supervises tasks as necessary:
· US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident (we are unable to sponsor employment visas).
Preferred Qualifications
· Chinese language proficiency;
· Working knowledge of Chinese social media platforms;
· Experience studying abroad/working in China.

SALARY RANGE
Salary commensurate with experience, up to $60,000
