Job Description Job Title: Allied Sterile Processing Technician

Description:
Monday to Friday, typically 11 AM to 7:30 PM but may require an early start or late stay.
No holidays, call, weekends, or overnights.
Duties include technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for the surgical center, adhering to principles of sterile techniques.
Responsible for the proper care and handling of instruments.
Assists the clinical staff by performing advocacy services in caring for the patient.
Follows policies, protocols, techniques, and manufacturer's guidelines when reprocessing and assembling specialized instruments and equipment utilized in the operating room and patient care area.
Responsible for the proper care of instruments and equipment, ensuring utilization is in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines.
Initiates and/or participates in quality assurance and continuous quality monitoring, utilizing results to initiate or recommend changes as indicated.
Documents required information and maintains records for instruments and equipment.
Undertakes continuous education and training in all areas of sterile processing, including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes within all professional standards and regulations.
Identifies, picks, and distributes supplies and stock items, including equipment requests, delivering them to appropriate areas.
Monitors stock levels and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing.
Responsible for providing biological and chemical test solutions to ensure quality and consistency for the decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
