Job Description

Position Summary: Responsible for the general systems operations, including but not limited to:

· The RMLSweb.com and RMLS.com domain

· LAN and WAN equipment and services

· All additional SQL and web server systems

Essential Functions:

· Maintain backups of all systems as directed

· Maintain updated documentation and event logs related to system operations and events

· Measure and report on system performance as directed

· Routinely monitor systems to ensure availability, reliability, and security consistent with policies

· Routinely monitor network activity to ensure stability and ample bandwidth

· Troubleshoot system problems (e.g. network outages, system failures)

· 24/7 availability, which can be delegated at management direction

· Perform preventative maintenance (PM) tasks consistent with manufacturer’s recommendations and industry standards

· Act as the secondary (backup) point of contact with staff, vendors, suppliers and contractors who work with RMLS systems, implementing internal support, follow-through and communications regarding all issues

· Provide recommendations for improving the availability and reliability of the RMLS systems

· Installation of new systems and software

· Participate in business continuance and other planning activities as directed

· May be required to travel to remote RMLS and/or subscriber offices

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements - Prior work experience and knowledge of:

· Current MS Windows server and workstation operating systems

· Current Ubuntu Linux operating systems

· Local area and wide area networking

· Security including firewall and intrusion detection management

· Active Directory and users, groups and permissions creation and management Backup hardware, software, and SANS

· MS IIS Administration and business-related web site operations

· Linux Apache administration

· SSL certificate administration

· Microsoft Entra ID administration (formerly Azure Active Directory)

· General / Azure DNS administration

· Microsoft 365 administration SQL Server administration and replication

· Proficiency with Windows scripting, with PowerShell preferred

· Proficiency with Linux bash scripting

· SQL Server security

· Synology experience preferred

· CISCO routing and load balancing experience preferred

· Strong interest in continuous learning about technology and computer operations

· 2+ years of IT Operations experience

· MCSA Certification preferred

· 2-4 year degree in computer science or related field preferred
