Vessel Accountant at our Pasadena, TX office.

Main responsibilities and tasks Financial Reporting:
- Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with WSM policy & procedures and US GAAP.
- Support the preparation quarterly and annual reports information, ensuring processes compliance with regulatory requirements include supplementary schedule and/or supporting documents.
- Verifying accuracy of financial statements online reporting package (SAP and Tableau)
- Ensure deliverables in accordance with Vessel owners' accounting policy, and/or accounting manual.
- Ensure completion of month end close activities, checklist, and financial reporting package timely.
- Collaborate with Technical management, Vessel owners, Crewing, Global Procurement and other teams to gather information, and comprehensive financial reporting and analytical review.
- Maintaining a proper filing for financial statements, supporting documents, and other correspondence etc.
Governance Compliance:
- Adherence to WSM policies and procedures, GIMS processes.
- Assurance of strong internal accounting control environment.
- Meet Accounting Controls and Internal Control Framework guideline.
- Comply to ISAE 3402 Type II requirements in performing tasks.
- Lead improvement in efficiency and effectiveness in processes and KPIs.
Audits Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal & external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
- Achieve satisfactory audit (internal & external) and other regulatory reviews.
Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor an extended team in SSC, fostering a culture of excellence and continuously improve way of working.
- Plan and manage workload within the group to ensure proper execution of tasks and meet objectives.
- Effective communication on changes and actively seek continuous improvement in work processes.
- Coach and transfer knowledge to SSC to increase group efficiency.

Interaction & regular communication:
- Vessel owners - Accountant to handle queries relating to monthly reports, supporting docs,
- Vessel Managers - Provides accounting advisory, accurate accounts classification, and presentation of OPEX and Financial statements,
- Procurement Team - Purchasing and invoicing related matters,
- Crewing Coordination Centre - Seafarers payroll matters,
- Master - lube oil reports matter, spares, inventory, portage bill,
- Manning Agents -disbursements related matters,
- Treasury team - payment related matters.
Accountabilities - Accurate and timely performing month end close, monthly reports and Budget Follow Up.
- Ensure accurate and timely funds request from Vessel owners.
- Vessel owners receive high quality financial reporting package.
- Management centers receive prompt reply to queries.
- Achieve KPI target and support initiatives of Annual Operating Plan.
- Implement identified projects.
Qualifications Mandatory requirements
- Degree in accounting, finance or equivalent in professional accounting body
- Experienced in finance and accounting of US MNC, US GAAP, and/or IFRS.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in a related field and having experiences in General Ledger and Audit.

Compensation depending on experience is $51,000 - $86,000 USD
Must be eligible to work in the US.
