Mailroom Clerk

NY - the Lincoln Center

Part time - 20 hours per week (Monday thru Friday 8am - 12pm or 9am - 1pm)

Contract could potentially go perm


Our client is seeking a Mailroom clerk on a part-time basis to start immediately. This role is responsible for processing, sorting, delivering, and collecting internal and external correspondence, as well as maintaining inventory of mailroom and office supplies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, accuracy, and a proactive approach to internal service delivery.



Key Responsibilities:

• Sort, prepare, and deliver incoming and outgoing mail and packages throughout the organization
• Pick up outgoing mail from internal departments on a scheduled basis
• Operate postage meters, weigh and apply postage, and process mailings accurately
• Calculate and record job charges for billing or cost tracking purposes
• Perform shipping and receiving functions for packages, office supplies, and equipment
• Distribute incoming faxes and ensure prompt delivery to appropriate recipients
• Maintain adequate inventory levels of office and mailroom supplies; place orders as needed
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and postal/shipping regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of mailroom and supply storage areas
• Provide support to facilities or administrative staff as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous mailroom, sorting, prepping, shipping/receiving and office support required
• Familiarity with postage meters, courier systems, and standard shipping practices ideal
• Ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Basic computer proficiency (e.g., email, data entry, shipping software)
