Social Media Content Specialist

Reports to Director of Social Media & Communications

Word on Fire Catholic Ministries is a nonprofit global media apostolate that supports the work of Bishop Robert Barron and reaches millions of people to draw them into—or back to—the Catholic faith.

Word on Fire’s social media team is fast-paced and collaborative, balancing between their focus on campaigns and being able to quickly pivot to time sensitive, high priority items. The Social Media Content Specialist will use their passion for coordinating marketing campaigns to build brand awareness and own select campaigns from start to finish - while utilizing excellent strategic management skills and collaborating with multiple teams to execute.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple social media campaigns from inception to publication, developing a framework to organize and execute
  • Collaborate with Word on Fire Design and Production teams to gather social media graphics and digital assets for use
  • Ensure timely delivery of social media assets to compile and package for posting across social media channels - including but not limited to: X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Word on Fire ethos and voice to ensure brand and platform consistency while leveraging data to innovate and optimize
  • Analyze the performance of social media posts to identify trends in engagement, growth, demographics, reach, and impression analytics to develop new strategies to optimize posts, grow views, and increase engagement; compiling insight reports as needed
  • Maintain internal documentation of historical and current process changes, acting as the subject matter expert for internal partners
  • Deeply connect with internal organization to best capture and amplify company happenings in alignment with Word on Fire social media standards
  • Occasionally meet deadlines for posting content to Word on Fire social media accounts
  • In collaboration with Social Media Copywriting Specialist, occasionally write compelling post text, captions, and video descriptions for content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, and YouTube)

 

Requirements

  • 2 years of marketing experience in a professional setting
  • Bachelor's degree in art history, english, history, political science, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with brand management
  • Commitment to the mission of Word on Fire
  • Familiarity with Bishop Barron, Word on Fire, the Bible, Catechism of the Catholic Church, and magisterial teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Results-oriented, independent self-starter, and expert time manager
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Highly creative and driven to explore new social media trends and ideas
  • Ability to quickly learn new technical skills
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Willingness to be on call occasionally in the evenings, on weekends, and over holidays

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this position is $59,000 - $73,000 annually. Word on Fire determines individual compensation on several factors, including but not limited to, experience, skills, alignment with the role’s responsibilities, and geographic location. This role may be eligible for annual merit increases based on individual performance.
